How to Create a Watercolor Background with Tombow Brush Pens

Have you ever wondered how to create a watercolor-like background for your brush lettering projects? All it takes is a few simple steps!

First things first, though, make sure you have the following items on hand:

1. Tombow Dual Brush Pen

2. Small Ziploc Bag

3. Watercolor or Mixed Media Paper

4. Small Glass of Water

5. Watercolor Paintbrush (can be any size)

Now here are the steps!

1. Pick your favorite Tombow Dual Brush Pen shade and color an entire column on a small Ziploc bag

2. Dip your paintbrush into the water and then soak up the entire column of ink from your Ziploc back

3. Outline the shape you wish to make and color in by adding water and ink

For this particular project I did not combine colors, although that is a possibility. Instead I flecked different color combinations to give the piece some texture.

After the piece has fully dried letter away!
